Every wheel needs 2x bearings and 1x spacer to function, and wheels are made in different materials, dimensions, hardness, profiles and different cores. The cores can be solid (massive core for maximum durability), spoked (core with holes and cutouts, making a lightweight wheel but also weaker), or hollow (hollow inside for lightweight, while still maintaining strength, but not as strong as solid core). Plastic cores do not last long and are a bit flexible.

The profiles can be flat (giving strength to the rubber and maximum grip) or narrow (a narrow profile gives you speed). The hardness ranges from 0-100a on the durometer scale, where 100a is the hardest. Most scooter wheels are 85a. Hard wheels last longer, but are more slippery and faster, while soft wheels wear down faster but have better grip, great for parks and indoor use.
